– looked sensational in a Princess Diana-style gown at Cannes, a sheer Burberry dress, and a chain print Balenciaga blouse
Shakira has been rocking the best of “revenge” fashion
Shakira has taken back her power in the style stakes, looking stunning in everything from Miu Miu to a gown like the one Lady Di rocked
The Grammy-award-winning singer-songwriter recently released what’s been dubbed a diss track aimed squarely at her ex – BZRP Music Sessions, Vol. 53 – which contains the lyrics “I’m worth two 22-year-olds, you swapped a Ferrari for a Twingo, you swapped a Rolex for a Casio”.
Regardless, since parting ways with the footballer, Shakira has been looking more glamorous than ever, clearly dressing for herself in some jaw-dropping outfits – perhaps the sweetest revenge of all? Here are some of our faves from the past few months …
1. The Princess Diana-inspired Cannes dress
First on the list is the strapless black dress with sweetheart neckline that Shakira waltzed onto the red carpet in for the 75th Cannes Film Festival.
Taking style revenge notes from the late Princess Diana, the “Hips Don’t Lie” songstress accessorised the gorgeous black gown by New York-based fashion label Mônot with matching gloves and diamond jewellery.
2. Balenciaga chain-pattern blouse
According to Latin media outlets, the outfit might be another message to Piqué, with the golden chains representing their former relationship.
3. Burberry campaign outfit
4. Aadnevik for Midnight Muse
Aside from promoting her long-awaited new music and landing several magazine covers, Shakira has also been busy promoting her new fragrance, Midnight Muse amid the break up.
The singer showed off her spectacular figure in an Aadnevik spring/summer 2020 skin-coloured ensemble as she promoted her perfume, which hit shelves last year.
5. Miu Miu see-through situation
Shakira was all about that sweet revenge style as the cover star of Elle’s October 2022 issue.
The “Waka Waka” musician slayed in a slew of stylish outfits, including a see-through Miu Miu dress embellished with large crystals paired with silver platform sandals. Shakira also donned a blush pink Versace gown, a Johanna Ortiz cocktail dress and a black Carolina Herrera strapless number, as seen in the Elle article.
“A woman can be enough. I can be enough at this point for myself and for my family, for my kids,” Shakira wrote in her Instagram caption.
